Polar Ring 2011

The day has passed according to the already familiar scenario. Actually no news except that the weather in Vorkuta worsened seriously. Heavy blizzard, and strong wind. Storm warning in the town. In such circumstances it’s difficult even to get to the aerodrome to take next part of equipment to prepare for the journey.
The beds that became free in our suite are occupied by the navigators of our two crews. Now we feel more clearly that main task is to get out of Vorkuta at any price. To accomplish it commanders agree to spend a night at the island Sredny if needed. A couple days ago they denied to think of it.

The weather significantly improves by the evening. Information from Golomjany is also the most favorable. Our airplanes again are scheduled for the take off. It is planned for 9 am tomorrow. The ‘orange’ should come to take us at eight.

We try not to mention that tomorrow the ‘miracle’ may occur. And we are getting ready!
